A couple of days ago I sent the following email to everyone that I know.

Dear friends,
I hope this email finds you all well.
For many years I have been interested in studying biblical prophesy along with the prophesies of the saints and the writings of scholars of prophesy. There are many people who are not at ease with this topic and do not want to hear anything about it. Many people put these things out of their mind, as something that will happen after they are long gone, and refuse to look at the many signs that are present today; also many Church leaders are very (too!) worried about human respect. It is unfortunate that there are a great number of people and cults today, such as the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mormans, that misuse prophesy for there own interests and attention; this misuse of prophesy causes many to reject all prophetical studies.
Recently I found an article on the Internet (http://www.margheritadigesu.it/pagine/microchip.html) that coincided exactly with what I had discovered in my studies. I translated the article into English (attached; http://markbeast.blogspot.com) but my translation is not yet posted on the website: http://www.margheritadigesu.it/index.html. The article is based on the private revelations of a woman in Italy, Margaret of Jesus. I also recently put a summary of my studies on the Internet “The Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (http://markbeast.blogspot.com) which is also attached.
It is no secret that the world economy is in pretty bad shape. Recently my bank, Washington Mutual, where I had some money, went down.
If you feel that this is all crazy and that I am totally nuts, I would still urge you to print out a hard copy of these two articles, even if you do not read them now, so that when it all does happen, you will be able to read these articles to have an idea of what is going on, as well as to be able to make the decision that you must make. When it does happen very suddenly, in the confusion, most likely there will not be electricity for some time.
Please communicate this information to everyone you can before it is too late. DO NOT TAKE THE MICROCHIP!!! DO NOT EVER DENY your loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, even if you have to die of starvation!

Not that being Catholic is relevant to this subject, and I have NO clue what Catholics of any stripes believe, and it does not matter what your http: site claims. Those that receive that 'mark' do so willingly, they do not know what the mark is.... now if a supernatural being shows upon this earth how would you know who that entity was. The 'mark' is about counting over a very long period of time..... how many know how to count that number???
The 'mark' is accepted because of lack of knowledge as to what literally the 'mark' is, and who will willingly accept and receive it. It is what you believe and who you believe, not a literal object that is visible.
The Antichrist will be extremely intelligent, charismatic, and everything else. “all the world [wonders] after the Beast” (Rev 13:3-4). It is not Obama. I do not believe that the Antichrist has revealed himself yet.
Regarding the false prophet, it is interesting that St. Hildegard (d. 1179) wrote that when the new Pope is elected immediately before the Antichrist, a cardinal will kill the Pope before he is crowned through jealousy, he wishing to be Pope himself. Then when the other cardinals elect the next Pope this cardinal will proclaim himself (anti) Pope, and two-thirds of the Christians will go with him. She notes that this Antipope as well as the Antichrist are descended from the tribe of Dan. If this private revelation of St. Hildegard turns out to be true, is it possible that this Antipope might be the False Prophet predicted in the book of Revelation (Rev 16:13; 19:20; 20:10; ch. 13 etc.) who will work hand in hand with the first “beast”, the antichrist, to subdue the world? This possibility is also clearly indicated by Margaret of Jesus (http://www.margheritadigesu.it/pagine/microchip.html; http://markbeast.blogspot.com).

That’s not the point of this stupid article and you know that. This article is warning people not to “accidentally” take the mark of beast.
The fact that we can imbed a chip into the right hand of a human being that can control whether we can buy or sell should be used as evidence that the prophecies in Revelations are correct and accurate.
But instead we get this paranoid screed about how this technology “is” the mark of the beast.
The truth is this is likely the technology that will be used by the prophet of the antichrist to provide the mark of the beast, but the technology in and of itself is not the mark of the beast.
We should be proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ rather than freaking out and acting like paranoid louts simply because prophecy is being fulfilled... like we claimed we believed anyway.
The fallicy in your argument is that 2/3 of christians are NOT CATHOLIC..so the Pope has no meaning to us, other than the head of Catholic Church. We pray to Jesus directly, and we do not accept anyone else, and we do not pray to Mary. Our faith is a direct faith, so an Antichrist being a Pope would not affect us...it has to be a political leader who has a ‘PROPHET’, who is religious based...in fact a Pope could not control the computers, buying an selling or preside over a one world gov’t.
And who was it that said 'he' would be 'god'???? I think it is recorded that he received the death sentence for his extreme intelligence and charismatic pride!
In Brussells, Belgium is the center of the biggest computer database in the world. It has been a work in progress since mid-70’s, it can hold all of the world’s data for each human being. My mother had a real estate business for twenty years in WV...she sold a piece of real estate to a man who worked there for years...he told her the nickname of that huge (many city blocks) monstracity was “THE BEAST”..it gave real pause regarding scripture. ...it may not be The Beast of the Bible, but who knows for sure, if it controls all of our data.
I agree with you. In and of itself, the microchip is neutral; it depends how it is used. But I believe the form of the “mark of the beast” will end up being the microchip.

While i am also not Catholic, i do know that there is little to no difference between Catholic eschatology and basic Protestant eschatology. The only real difference is that Dispensational Premillenialist thought is almost an exclusive Protestant teaching, and is to the best of my knowledge, never taught in the Catholic Church.
i find it most curious that if the poster JosephJames is the Catholic Priest who wrote this blog article, why on earth would he publish doctrinal teaching that is FAR outside the tradition of the Catholic Church?

The false prophet will need to be able to convince a large majority of people, and I’m not sure who that would be at this point....
That particular urban legend has been around since the early 1970's. It was nonsense then, and it is nonsense now.
When i was younger, and more impressionable, i drove around Brussels for three days looking for this super computer that took up three square city blocks. IT DID NOT EXIST THEN, DOES NOT EXIST NOW, AND WILL NOT EXIST IN THE FUTURE.
There is no need for such a thing to exist. The power of a good high end PC or network thereof would hold all of the necessary data for the purpose you state. It could be housed in a small office.

It existed in the 1970’s, because the man was an engineer there, and since technology has changed it could be in a huge building now, but believe me it existed...it was not an urban legend. I told you a truthful fact, and whatever happened between then and now does not negate the truth...no matter how many trips you took to Belgium. The reason for that is that Bill Gates, Microsoft was in the News a couple of years ago for a conference there.
You will have to accept Mohammed and Islam as your religion to get it.
