Non-Denominational Devotional/Prayer
For some time, through FReepmail, several FReepers have provided each other with a way to share prayer requests and praises. Now that the Non-denominational category has been established at Freerepublic, we are offering a weekly thread in which posts of your requests and praises are welcome. Anyone, regardless of denomination, is welcome to bring their concerns here. The one thing that we hope to establish here, is that at a set time on Sunday evening, 11:00 p.m. in the Eastern time zone, 10:00 p.m. Central time, 9:00 p.m. Mountain time, and 8:00 p.m. Pacific time, we will as a group, lift these concerns up in prayer. Individual prayer at any time is, of course, encouraged. If anyone desires to post an "anonymous" request, just word it in a manner such as: " Please lift up my prayer (or praise) for a personal concern."

He has promised to be in our midst tonight as we gather wherever we may be, as a voice in one accord, to praise Him and ask on behalf of others for His Grace to be granted to them.

There will be a non-denominational prayer thread for each of the remaining debates, opening at 8PM and remaining open right through the spin cycle liars club which follows the debates. But this thread is for personal prayer requests offered when we gather in His name at 11PM Eastern every Sunday evening.

I have a prayer request to make of everyone. My son, age 49, has had dificulty breathing and a pain in his upper right side for two months. 2 chest x-rays have been done, and everything looks fine. Tomorrow he will have a bone scan done. Please pray that it will come up clean.

(It’s not gall bladder, as he already had that removed.)

That’s what I usually do, if I don’t get here at the right time. I wake up a coupla times during the night, and that’s when I get a lot of praying done. I always remember the fine folks at FR, and all the ones they love and are concerned about.

I would like prayers for my wife's family as my mother-in-law is in a coma. She is 92 and not expected to survive.
Prayers also that certain members of the family can gather together without the usual grandstanding by certain ones.

I am referring to my brother-in-law from NM (If you know him he probably owes you money).

Now, let me say something that will scare everyone:

my God is powerful enough to protect me and my family IF Obama becomes President. God kept the lights on in Goshen when the Egyptians were engulfed in darkness; kept the Jews fed when the Egyptians were starving; kept them in such good shape that when the Egyptians let them go, they gave the Jews all their gold and silver!

So the point is, yes I want McCain to win. I pray for him. But God is in control, not John McCain and not Barack Obama.

I have a friend who will be attending the festivities as one of the local undecideds. In reality though she is supporting Obama. I have asked her how a Christian woman can support him and she gave me some liberal scriptures that totally miss the point.

When I answered her (with scriptures to all her points) she no longer wanted to talk. What a surprise. So I told her I would be praying for her for clarity and truth to be revealed at the debate.

If your friend is truly a Christian woman, explain the Obama efforts to protect a particularly hideous form of abortion known as 'induced labor abortion'. This is a procedure where the mother's cervix is opened via a laminary, the premature child is forced to be born before ready to survive in the air world, the the struggling preemie is left unattended to die alone, sometimes taking hours to suffocate.

The reasons for the growingly popular killing method, given by the abortionists questioned on this method, were mainly the following:

1) this method for killing by neglect after forced premature birth, kills the alive child outside the mother's body rather than poisoning, dismembering, or sucking out the brain while the alive child is still in the mother's body;

2) the tissues of children killed this way, by neglect so they struggle and eventually suffocate, provides more pristine tissues for the fetal tissue harvesters providing baby parts to research programs in the billion dollar plus fetal tissue industry.

Barack Obama was well informed on these issues yet he worked hard to protect this heinous killing method. What does that say about the man who would protect such horrific infanticide, and then lie with several different misdirection tales, spinning his efforts to protect this evil? What does it say about people who when informed of this connection to such evil will vote fro the man anyway?

I have 2 Christian friends who are supporting Obama. I know others who support him as well, but I expected better from Christians.

I finally realized that in reality, Obama is a terrorist. The reason I say this is that he is using our (Christian’s) ethics against us. I told both my friends about the abortion votes, and they say “well, there must have been something else connected to the vote”. Even when I sent the Ill. law text, they wouldn’t believe it.

So I finally told them both that because this procedure is so horrific they cannot imagine anyone really voting for it purposefully, therefore, they believes there must be something more.

In other words, they have never really known an evil person, and cannot conceive that someone can act so evilly. Which is why I call Obama a terrorist. He lies with a straight face, knowing that the gullable, innocent, and willfully stupid, will believe him.

I won’t sign up for a slot because I’m afraid I’ll forget or oversleep or do something stupid, but I am praying, as I did for Sarah Palin, for him.

A neighbor across the street from my son and also from where I lived for 25 years, died very suddenly at home the other day. It was totally unexpected. Please pray for his wife, who found him in their bathroom after he had vomited blood all over, and for his sons. It was a terrible shock to all of them and us.
