A lament of a person betrayed by friends. The psalmist prays that the evildoers be publicly exposed as unjust.
PSALM 35
Oppose, LORD, those who oppose America; war upon those who make war upon America. Take up the shield and buckler; rise up in her defense. Brandish lance and battle-ax against her pursuers. Say to her heart, "I am your salvation." Let those who seek her life be put to shame and disgrace. Let those who plot evil against America be turned back and confounded. Make them like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them on. Make their way slippery and dark, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.
Malicious witnesses come forward, accuse citizens of things they do not know. They repay America evil for good and we are all alone. Yet we, when they were ill, put on sackcloth, afflicted ourselves with fasting, sobbed our prayers upon our bosoms. We went about in grief as for our brothers, bent in mourning as for our mothers. Yet when America stumbled they gathered with glee, gathered against America like strangers. They slandered America without ceasing; without respect they mocked America, gnashed their teeth against America. Lord, how long will you look on? Save America from roaring beasts, my precious country from lions! Then we will thank you in the great assembly; we will praise you before the mighty throng.
Do not let lying foes smirk at America, our undeserved enemies wink knowingly. They speak no words of peace, but against the quiet in the land they fashion deceitful speech. They open wide their mouths against America. They say, "Aha! Good! Our eyes relish the sight!" You see this, LORD; do not be silent; Lord, do not withdraw from America. Awake, be vigilant in our defense, in our cause, our God and our Lord.
Defend America because you are just, LORD; our God, do not let them gloat over America. Do not let them say in their hearts, "Aha! Just what we wanted!" Do not let them say, "We have devoured that country!" Put to shame and confound all who relish our misfortune. Clothe with shame and disgrace those who lord it over America. But let those who favor our just cause shout for joy and be glad. May they ever say, "Exalted be the LORD who delights in the peace of his loyal servants." Then my tongue shall recount your justice, declare your praise, all the day long.
WAKE UP AMERICA AND PRAY!
The water has reached our bottom lip ... PING!
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
I’m adding my voice to this prayer.
Thank you for posting it!!!!

Whatever happens tonight, Sarah Palin is head and shoulders above any of the other candidates, imo. I hope she will forget anything intimidating that she’s been told, and speaks from her high standards and her innate honesty.
Sarah Palin has so many gifts - what the outcome of the debate tonight or the electoral process itself, cannot rob this beautiful woman of her gifts.
She has given pleasure and hope to so many who feel the process we have of falshoods being given, media stirring up wounds which were never intended and many which were.
All of those issues of cruelty pale when I think
of that beautiful person who arrived on our television screens and for those fortunate people - in person in their home town - we have seen and heard this woman at her best.
The outcome of the election is not going to be the defining moment for Sarah Palin - she has much more left to do in her lifetime - and it will all be good.
She will take away with her (win or lose) many teachings about herself and these will be passed along to all those fortunate people who are in her immediate family and in her life.
For Magnificant Sarah (both strong and fragile in her own beautiful way) - being herself in whatever she chooses to spend her life as a task to serve - will be done well - and the VP appointment is but one of many opportunities she will have.
I feel blessed to have known her and heard her speak. Many women who have wondered about our roles in society and whether we have chosen the best for ourselves look to Sarah as proof we have much to give and there is always room in our lives to share, especially when given with love and caring. That is enough.
Amen! The Holy Spirit has stirred a lot of people to pray for this debate. How encouraging!!!
I truly believe we will see God answer our prayers tonight. Tonight will be the night this whole race turns around and it will because of a intercession of prayer for Sarah Palin and this country.
Ephesians 6:12
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Amen.
BTTT.
Thank You for your message, for witnessing His will, and embracing our burdens as we are blessed with them.
You are an inspiration, my sister, you are passion and truth.
You’re a darling.
God is good!
