It is so exciting to see the Holy Father cheered by scores of young people through the streets of Paris. Especially because my family is French. But who would have heard of a German Pope getting this kind of treatment in Paris? This is a universal church. Our ethnic differences do not divide us as they may have once upon a time. It really is a beautiful thing to see.
