Kaine did well with Catholic voters in Northern Virginia by appearing to be pro-life (like Landrieu and Casey Jr.), and because his Democratic predecessor had avoided social issues while being infinitely more competent of a politician than his RINO Republican predecessor, Gov. Gilmore. Gilmore inflated the size of government so hugely that Gov. Warner was able to get Virginia out of its fiscal crisis without raising taxes much.

If Kaine or another "pro-life Catholic Democrat" is selected (I don't believe that a true pro-life Catholic Democrat could be selected), this parallel needs to be pointed out gratuitously.
This must be done especially in states like PA; if that is pointed out, it might even work, because the people of those states have been burned once already by faux-pro-life Dems.
