Well, it's sort of like permanent deacons, and it's an act of mercy for Episcopal priests who
believed they were part of the Catholic church (although separated) but were rudely disabused of that notion by the misbehavior of the Episcopal Church.
It's certainly not going to become common. It's more of a rescue effort than anything else.
