MYERS DESECRATES THE EUCHARIST (and the Qu'ran) - here is how he claims he did it
Catholic League ^ | July 24, 2008 | Bill Donohue

Posted on 07/24/2008 1:26:41 PM PDT by NYer

University of Minnesota professor Paul Z. Myers made good on his pledge to desecrate the Eucharist today. According to his statement on the subject, “I pierced it [the Host] with a rusty nail (I hope Jesus’s tetanus shots are up to date). And then I simply threw it in the trash.”

Saying he did not want to “single out just the cracker,” Myers also tore pages from the Koran along with a few pages from Richard Dawkins’ The God Delusion and nailed them to the Host. He then said, “They are just paper. Nothing must be held sacred. (His emphasis.) Question everything. God is not great, Jesus is not your lord, you are not disciples of any charismatic prophet.”

Catholic League president Bill Donohue responded as follows:

“A formal complaint against Myers has already been made. What he did—in both word and deed—constitutes a bias incident, as defined by the University of Minnesota. The policy says that ‘Expressions of disrespectful bias, hate, harassment or hostility against an individual, group or their property because of the individual or group’s actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion…can be forms of discrimination. Expressions vary, and can be in the form of language, words, signs, symbols, threats, or actions that could potentially cause alarm, anger, fear, or resentment in others…even when presented as a joke.’

“The University must now take action and apply the appropriate sanction. We are contacting the president, Board of Regents and the Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Office at the school, as well as Minnesota’s governor and both houses of the state legislature; the Catholic community in Minnesota is also being contacted. Moreover, we are also contacting Muslim groups nationwide.

“It is important for Catholics to know that the University of Minnesota will not tolerate the deliberate destruction of the Eucharist by one of its faculty. Just as African Americans would not tolerate the burning of a cross, and Jews would not tolerate the display of swastikas, Catholics will not tolerate the desecration of the Eucharist.”

He’s lying. “No video” means “didn’t happen.”

In fact, if he DOES have a video, it’s an unconsecrated host.

I don’t really understand how or why people choose not to believe in God. Not just the fear of death factor – but life is so much better with God in the picture…

DID YOU KNOW THESE FACTS?

I SURE DIDNT TILL NOW

By T.D. Jakes - Untimely Death...

Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!

It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):
‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
for whatsoever a man sow,
that shall he also reap.’
\\\
Here are some men and women who mocked God :
John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said: ‘Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain.’
Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him’ (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ),
While smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:’God, that’s for you.’
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said:
‘Not even God can sink it’

The result: We all know what happened to the Titanic

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show.
He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
‘I don’t need your Jesus’.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment

Bon Scott (Singer)
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
‘Don’t stop me; I’m going down all the way, down the highway to hell’...On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

Campinas (IN 2005)
In Campinas , Brazil, a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend. The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
‘My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.’
She responded: ‘Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here.....It’s Already Full ‘
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died. The car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact. The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact.. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none were broken.

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer)
said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.

Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

MYERS has mocked God - I would not drive in a car with him nor be anywhere near where he lives or works. He has made his statements perfectly clear. God is NOT mocked...

Myers is lost eternally if he doesn’t get right with Jesus.

Absolutely.

If Paul Z. Myers is such an iconoclast, lets see him tie a noose and nail it to his office door. Ha!

While Myers desecration of the Eucharist (I don't care about the Koran) was juvenile and not a little pathetic, his actions concern me a lot less than the schools "bias incident" policy (as quoted by the Catholic League):

‘Expressions of disrespectful bias, hate, harassment or hostility against an individual, group or their property because of the individual or group’s actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion…can be forms of discrimination. Expressions vary, and can be in the form of language, words, signs, symbols, threats, or actions that could potentially cause alarm, anger, fear, or resentment in others…even when presented as a joke.’

Good heavens, exactly what sort of expression wouldn't be considered a "bias incident" under that code? How could you claim to support free speech when you have institutionalized a Stalinist speech code like that? So much for "academic freedom." God forbid anyone tells a joke on that campus.

He’s completely lost his head.

No, correct that. For tearing up the Koran, he’s in danger of losing his head!

May God have mercy on his soul.

At our Parish the Knights of Columbus have taken the responsibility of supervising the communion lines to make sure that everyone that receives consumes.

Each of us consider it a Duty, Honor, and a Privilege.

Dunno about "worst names ever" (though Skatje is pretty damned bad)....

I think Mr. Myers read just a tad too much Conan the Barbarian when he was young....

Catholics can also contact:

His Eminence Francis Cardinal Arinze
Prefect
Congregation for Divine Worship
Vatican City

... with a petition along the following lines:

Your Eminence,

In the light of the recent and well-publicised pre-meditated desecration of the Blessed Sacrament, and the stated intentions of groups inimical to the faith of Holy Mother Church to repeat such sacrileges on an organised and persistent basis, I beg you for the love of Christ to abrogate the indult which permits reception of Holy Communion in the hand with immediate effect, and to do this on a permanent and irrevocable basis.

Yours etc.

If he gets decapitated by the Muslims for desecrating a koran, It will show a world a difference in other world religions. God help us all and God help this man.

So much for "academic freedom."

While I am against speech codes and the like, it is important to realize that traditionally the concept of "academic freedom" was to guarantee that scholars researching what might be controversial or unpopular subjects in their areas of specialty would not be subject to intimidation and/or harassment. It was meant to apply to the areas of specialty of the scholar. Mr. Myers is a biologist, not a theologian. It seems if he appeals to "academic freedom" in defense of his actions, it would be inappropriate and beyond the purview of such a policy.

The Reagents of the University have the authority to enact reasonable policies to safeguard the integrity and good name and reputation of the University. If one of their employees is violating such policies, they have the responsibility to act if their policies are to have any meaning. Myers obviously has violated their stated policy.

Does he not, by doing this, admit that he believes it is the body of Christ?
