I think it’s not good to overstate a case, (that NOBODY has ever said a thing) as it can usually be shown that SOMEBODY has. On both sides.

In the same way, it’s not good to overstate in the other direction, as in “Catholics/Protestants are ALWAYS telling me/us...”
