A couple of years ago, the assistant pastor of a large “Church of God” here announced that the church would no longer support the homeless shelter or the food bank because Catholics participated. To their credit, the congregation told him to shut up - maybe he was a goofball, but they weren’t.
See that’s because they hadn’t read the super secret part of the Bible that says, “What ever you do to the least of My Brethren....provided it doesn’t involve getting any of those Catholic cooties, or even making eye contact.....”
Our church tries to work with all churches in the village. We started a women’s Bible study in the American Baptist church downtown and we have 34 women from every church in the village, including Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist, Methodist, Non-denominational. It can and does work. Not joining a pro-life or other organization because Catholics are there is small minded and really stupid. We all have something to offer.
