You are so correct.
When God does a work upon a life, all is “new” according to the gospel promise in the New Testament.
The “new” woman in Christ was quite first-class to her pastor husband. They are an exceptionally happy couple to this day.

God actually told Hosea to go and marry such a woman. It was meant as an example of a covenant that parallels His relationship with Israel.
When the LORD first spoke through Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea, "Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry and have children of harlotry; for the land commits flagrant harlotry, forsaking the LORD." - Hosea 1:2
