If you wish to revisit a previous "ecumenic" article reposting it as an "open" thread - providing enough time has passed that the second posting will not be pulled as a duplicate - then go right ahead.

- what constitues "enough time" and what does "time" have to do with discussion? - what is accomplished by that?

However, if an "ecumenic" article has just been posted and you want to repost it for "open" debate, you must find a similar article or write one yourself so that it will not be pulled as a duplicate.

again, what does time have to do with it - it seems we are stifling debate on a forum of all things - thats absurd....and its plain cavets about - in even reposting open threads

Remember this: all of the moderators make decisions concerning whether or not to pull duplicate threads. And we do not disturb decisions made by another moderator. So the advise I'm giving you here represents how I think you can accomplish what you want. But another moderator might pull your thread anyway for his own reasons. If so, his decisio will stand.

i know, continuity would be too much to expect

My two cents - weve woven ourselves into a silly little know with these rules, convoluted to the enth degree, further mired with the arbitrary "feelings" of a mod who might well be a member of the faith group being discussed.....and heavens forbid a tagline be anything but purely esoteric.......all to placate one or two whiners in the protected class

this is no different that the recent situation at a nearby high school - one student complained that a teams t shirt might be construed as offensive to those knowing the slang, so the team was banned from wearing them

This is no different here - weve implemented a system (in JR's absence) to cope with the continual abuse button hits by a small number of posters who cant bear to see thier theology of all things discussed openly, because it might upset them.

Its nonsensical and cheapens the concept of an open, "free" forum...especially if you have trouble minding the rules that read like a tax code

Post A, on ecumenical, but only if B is the third tuesday of the month, but not if so and so started a series, and wishes to see his name in print...blah blah blah

insert sigh here

Listen up. Only the Religion Forum has a designated moderator. But all moderators have authority here and exercise that authority to remove duplicate posts.

We are not robots with programmed minds or Borg drones with a collective mind.

I’m telling you how it works, my best advise for how to avoid having your post pulled as a duplicate. Suck it up. Deal with it.

I've had it with your childish whining.

Any more nonsense from either of you and this thread will be locked for childish behavior.
