Thank you for that beautiful picture and prayer and this thread....more and more, every day, current events bring us to the throne of grace where we will find God’s provision for every eventuality and need and worry....
God is at work in this nation and in all nations around the world....Yet we see so many of the freedoms we have enjoyed all our lives dwindling and now threatened with total enslavement by the totalitarians within and without our nation.
The enemy is at work also.
SOVERIEGN GOD WE HUMBLY PRAY THAT YOU WILL HEAR OUR CRIES FOR YOUR MIGHTY HELP FOR OUR NATION...Apart from you, Oh Lord, we shall perish as a free nation.
We submit our wills to thine, Oh Lord....we confess our sins....we ask and claim your forgiveness and cleansing of all our pride, all our selfishness and greed, all our faithlessness, all our neglect of doing your will, all our refusals to turn to YOU when you plead with us to do so through both the events of our lives but also of the life of this country.
Oh, Father, you tell us - we have not because we ask not.
We come to You now, humbly asking as you entreat us to do, believing that you hear our cries, our prayers and that you are even now in action on behalf of all who call on your name in faith and repentance.
Yes, Lord, we are selfish - we cherish freedom for ourselves...but we also long for the blessings of these God given and blood bought freedoms to be imparted to the next generation and beyond....both in this country and in all countries -— because the hunger to live in freedom is strong in every beating heart....
Father, YOU have been our ultimate protector and deliverer in this nation. Though we have not deserved your powerful interventions on our behalf....we humbly beseech that your protection and deliverance come into this year’s election events and beyond....and we trust that You have already been at work in this mighty battle for the soul of this country.
We pray that you, almighty God, our strong deliverer, will rise up and see YOUR enemies scattered....as we trust You to hear our cries and to act on them. Not for our sakes but for your mighty name to be praised! and for the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to continue to go out freely in this land and beyond....being the power unto salvation for all who hear your Word and believe!
The battle is in the heavenlies and in the hearts of men and women....both are domains where we are powerless to do anything - except to PRAY believing, trusting, armed with Thy Word, and covered with The Armor you have provided for our protection.
Let each one become willing vessels through whom the TReasure of the Life of Jesus Christ might go forth converting souls, delivering minds and hearts and bodies from any and all bondage, comforting those who mourn, and binding up the broken hearted, and briging sight to the blind and FREEDOM to the captives and those dwelling in darkest dungeons of enslavement....
We are the earthen vessels only. Our Lord Jesus Christ, at whose name EVERY knee shall bow and EVERY tongue shall confess as Lord of Lords and King of Kings....is the treasure.
Our nation has been a treasure for its citizens and for this world. We confess it is no longer that way for so many...but we thank you for the opportunity this nation has had to bring liberty to the captives in nations dominated by evil - as in Iraq and in Afghanistan.
Thank you for the victory our President, our troops, and weaponry have brought us there - but our cause for freedom has been the real power behind the triumph.
May more and more in this country and abroad come to understand - soon - the great and glorious blessings of being able to live in freedom - free enterprise, freedom to speak out, to worship, to defend ourselves, to work for and own property, and to give from what we have to those in need....
So tht we will NOT, by YOUR MIGHTY POWER, let this free nation slide into deep and dark bondage and enslavement.
