That grandchild learns so much from observing your life. As Jesus shows forth in your life, that child sees Him coming forth through you. Love and patience, peacefulness and interest in that child's life are the plow and rain for the seeds of the Gospel.

When my son was in diapers, barely crawling, I moved my little family to the town where my wife's parents lived. Their life showed they were closer to the Lord than my family and I wanted that closeness for my son. He grew up in his mother's Father's shadow when I was on the road in sales. He learned at his mother's Mother's kitchen the lessons of patience and gentleness. He is now a Father and is strong int he Lord, passing to his daughter the lessons and presence of the Lord he experienced more than heard about in his mother's family's lives. ... 'Raise up a child in the way that they should go' is an instructional phrase aimed at teaching by living it. Children are naturally drawn to learn from those who care for them.
