He took the Scriptural passage that "outside the Church there is no salvation"

Basically the same point I made a few hundred posts ago and, though, some have attempted to "educate" me on the ease and frequency of "un-excommunication", none has attempted to address the Scriptural reference.

Methinks there is great confusion concerning a Papal Encyclical (an "infallible" one no less) and Scripture.

Yes, because I can recall no such scripture and referencing both the words “church” and “salvation” I can’t find a verse. It is obviously a man’s opinion, and following a man’s opinion, not God’s, is what led to the priest’s problems.

I always make it a point to read your posts. You pointed out the nebulous nature of what is "infallible" or not.
