I’m...not really quite sure how to respond. Then again, I’m apparently a rookie when it comes to experiencing the vitriol of a Religion forum thread.

In any case...there were a couple of Churches we tried. One was a Presbyterian church, another was non-demoninational. We went once to a Pentecostal church...but nothing concrete. Not since before we moved, where our previous church for many years was Cornerstone Christian out of Montgomery.

I’ve been languishing since the start of college in terms of going to Church...and I decided I needed to change that.

I decided that the first Church ever founded was the way to go.

All in all..I certainly didn’t expect a fight on this thread. oo;

I won’t name names...but a few of you need to knock it off, and move it elsewhere if you don’t mind.

God bless.

Well, in all seriousness, to become a Catholic Christian means that many of your associates will think you're weird and some will think you're damned. You WILL be at least formally persecuted, by proxy.

We are not guiltless, by no means, and we have persecuted as well. And if this thread hasn't changed your mind and you go through with it, you may find that part of your vocation will be to help life-long Catholics see the beautiful and lovely parts of Protestantism, and there are many.

But you will find yourself, if you do that, "between". SOME Catholics will view you a little askance. And many Protestants will not forgive you, because they think they (a)know what we believe (when clearly they don't) and (b) have a duty to noisily and persistently revile it.

I think there is something remarkable here. But with it there are indeed persecutions, as Jesus promised. But could we expect to avoid them if we truly walk His walk?

If you wanted a caucus or ecumenic thread, you should have labeled this as such. Since it's an open thread and you solicited opinions, you got them.

Good luck as you venture toward Rome.

You are going to be hated for your conversion, US, and frankly, you are going to be hounded and attacked for even POSTING A THREAD about conversion.
