I don't mean to pick on you. I've just never understood this reasoning. It seems like an appeal to 1) appear open-minded and 2) to avoid offending anyone worse than necessary.
No because non-Mormons are telling you what Mormons think. You need to hear both sides. I was surprised to learn that some non-Mormons regularly attend a Mormon church. I thought you had to be in or out. There are C&E Mormons. My wife’s uncle was a Mormon and he insisted they handle his funeral. I doubt he attended church for years before he died.
