Polygamous men tended to die early. It wasn’t the sex that killed them. It was working yourself to death to support the families. A lot of the men had 9-10 kids and THEN went on their 2 year mission.
It was a very hard life. The reason they had so many wives was more tied to the Principle which demanded that men have at least 3 wives. Divorce was not uncommon. And remember, people didn’t bathe regular then.

Well, let’s see. I’m 40, so by the time my youngest leaves the house, I’ll be nearly 60. But that’s still young by todays standards. ;-)

I dunno. Abraham lived to be 175 years old. And I do believe all his family helped in the work, it wasn't all on Abraham's shoulders. He did have 6 more sons by Keturah after Sarah died, who knows how many daughters.
