Reading all of these threads about Mormonism, I am utterly confused about what Mormonism is, exactly. What is all of this stuff about Jews coming to America in 600 BC? What is the Book of Abraham and why is Abraham writing in Egyptian Hieroglyphs? What does the book of Mormon? What is the storyline of it?
I am confused as to what all of the Mormon writings are about, and how it is all put together theologically.
Please explain.
Sure, give me a link where a LDS person went to a mainsteam devotional and posted a hit piece.
Oh, yeah, there aren’t any.
Luke 24:32
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
For me, a more common manifestation of the spirit is what I wrote earlier, light and truth. The fruits of the spirit are listed very specifically.
Galations 5:
22 But the fruit of the spirit is love, Joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
I can find no reference in the scriptures where the spirit manifest's itself by testifying of darkness or in a negative way. That's the opposite of His mission.
The spirit certainly leaves us when we are full of darkness and sin. It has no place in us. But that doesn’t mean the spirit is testifying of darkness, or answers in the negative.
The Lord is very clear about how we get answers to prayer. It’s not through sin, it’s not through doubt, it’s not through darkness. It’s through faith, and obedience to what we know is right. It’s through sincere prayer, light, and fully expecting an answer from God himself. That is His promise,He will answer in the affirmative if we will but have faith that He will.
This is why all that you do on these anti Mormon threads don’t phase me. They can’t, for God is stronger than man. I have received a divine witness that I cannot deny, nor would I. It is beyond anything that any of us can do or say, it is the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of truth.
Cheers
Amos 3:7
7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, abut he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Luke 1
68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
I've already posted the Ephesians reference about the continued need for apostles and prophets... that is we all come to the unity of the faith, and not be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. Eph. 4: 13-14
You can't get around it if you claim that Mormons are the sole heirs to the truth, then in effect, what you are doing is nullifying the witness of others who claim the same thing as you do in their own faith.
Your statement of truth is an attack albeit indirectly on the differing belief system of others.
Tell me exactly what those “real facts” might be. That would not include a book written by con men. Point me to the site in the US where hundreds of thousands of men were slain in the last great battle of the BoM. That should be easy.
was Jesus Christ God from all eternity, or did he become a God at some point in time?
was Jesus Christ God from all eternity, or did he become a God at some point in time?
Don't Hose Me, Bro..!!
If God has not sent them then it doesn’t matter if we humans call them an apostle or prophet, they are still false teachers.
If what they say does not measure up to what God has already said or alters the character of God as described in Scripture, they are false teachers.
Name one.
As soon as you point me to any single piece of archeological evidence that proves the existence of Moses.
And I’m not talking about an unexplained wheel at the bottom of the Red Sea.
Can you answer this? It is a simple yes or no.
Was Jesus Christ God from all eternity?
So, you refuse to define your own truth, but you maintain that my confession of truth is an attack upon everybody else?
What????
They may not know it, but that doesn't mean the Mormon church doesn't have that as a doctrine; or they could have been lying to you. That would be nothing new.
And you will find a cornucopia of anti-Christian threads.....
Hehe, didn’t think you could.
They have no reason to lie. I was just watching the NG channell .
