I agree about the parallel between activist judges and a magisterium.

A timeline is your friend.

Jesus is recorded as having written only once - in the sand. Lots of people eventually wrote lots of things, but the Church decided what was Scripture - the Bible, extra clarification - the Creeds and the Catechism.

If it were up to the ordinary uninspired people (who may wish to be their own Pope or who may not), then we’d have the Gospel of Judas, the Acts of Peter, and hundreds of other works included as well. Truth is not democratic. It is simply, the truth. When you are acting as your own Pope, it is inevitable that you will get at least part of it wrong.

Some that are quite prominent in the new mega churches appear to be getting it all wrong.
