John F. MacArthur is no ordinary evangelical. I think that there is something special about him because of the unusual excellence of his book The Gospel According to Jesus. I consider that book to be the finest exposition on the gospel ever written.
The most surprising thing about John MacArthur is his wide acceptance, given that he believes in the true gospel and takes a strong stand on the historic Protestant understanding of Roman Catholicism. Consider his protestant message, Unmasking the Pope and the Catholic System, delivered shortly after the death of Pope John Paul II, and see if you can either respect or refute his statements.

Alrighty then, that’s reassuring. For a second I thought that only the entire Catholic Church is the spawn of Satan. Good to know that the Pope only “exhibits some of the marks of the Antichrist.”

MacArthur says plenty to 'prove' the pope as 'the' anti-christ. He then goes on about 'the devils doctrine' , the media and the Catholic Church being of satan, etc.

This guy is doing his darndest to take the mantle from that Hagee fraud.
Satan works through the false prophets in mysterious ways. And for those less dense, not nearly as mysterious. LOL
I am trying to understand your statement, but I find it difficult to fathom how an objection can be worse than hate-filled lies. Can you clarify your reasoning please?

The book I mentioned in post 270 does a very credible job explaining why one should not consider the RCC as antiChrist, as antiChrist specifically denies Christ has come in the flesh. The RCC doesn’t do that. I agree that the Scripture doesn’t seem to support one AntiChrist; and I am convinced more and more that AntiChrist is not the beast or false prophet. The office of pope can fulfill that of false prophet, it appears.
Now, further, antiChrist is within the churches, deceiving many of weak and false faith. Contrasted with the beast of Revelation, which wages war on the churches from without. This, the author surmises, is more likely those governments that set up their rulers as God. Several have done so over the years - during “the last days” in which we live.
All very interesting.
Weather the RCC is the Antichrist or not, it doesn’t really take away from their platform and their history.
Antichrist aside, MacArthur’s message has a lot of good points and quotes.

I don't know whether IE blocked it because the site has been flagged as a hate site, or because IE sees potential virus damage in the MP3. Either way, I am not going to risk my PC for some foolish 90-minute anti-Catholic diatribe.
