>>I would never be so self-righteous as to say any Christian church is defective <<
I guess that’s why you’re not the head of a church.
You can remain offended, or you can understand that the head of any church cannot say that another is “Just as good as ours” That’s just silly.
And if you’re going to heaven anyway, what do you care what some white haired guy in Rome says? I don’t care that the LDS baptize me after I die. I’m dead, I don’t mind.
And honestly, if anyone said I was defective, I would say, Yup sure am. I’m a sinner.
Sinners aren’t defective but human. If they didn’t sin, they would indeed be defective. The honest pursuit of virtue is all that can be expected in the best of us.
Still,so as not to appear anti-Catholic (which I’m not)the following is from the movie,”A Man For All Seasons.”
After Sir Thomas More is convicted of high treason for not supporting King Henry VIII in his attempt to junk the Catholic Church in England,Sir Thomas gives the best,in my opinion, defense of the RCC as the only legitimate Christian church equal to if not above the laws of man:
“Since the court has determined to condemn me,God knoweth how,I will now discharge my mind concerning the indictment and the king’s title.
The indictment is grounded in an act of parliament which is directly repugnant to the law of God and His Holy Church—the supreme government of which no temperable person may by any law presume to take upon him.THIS was granted by the mouth of our Saviour,Christ Himself,to Saint Peter and the bishops of Rome whilst He lived and was personally present here on earth!”
Though a work of fiction, the passage does make a dang good argument.
