Like Jeremiah Wright, sorry for the comparison, there are some statements that cannot be helped with context.

LOL, touche, you got me there. :)

However, we can't make a blanket statement like "anytime an appeal to context is given, we can dismiss it since Rev. Wright made similar appeals". Just saying..... ;)

YOU may not personally worship her, Judith Anne, but there ARE those who do, especially in foreign lands. We’ve seen it time and time again. I’m glad you personally don’t because it’s not a good thing to put her above her Son. Love, M

I know that you truly believe that some worship Mary due to the Catholic Church’s teaching. Do you have any theories as to why the Church would want to have unknowing Mary worship and not real knowing worship? If you had to hazard a guess, what would you say? Do Catholics know they worship Mary? If they know they worship Mary, why wouldn’t they admit it?

"The Church" is the body of Christ, IE all born again believers. Since you are using the term Church differently, I would have to submit to your definition to respond. I'm not willing to submit to your definition of Church.

But I can say with error like Marianism, Church, Priest and other words used completely non-biblically, RC's are being lead off a cliff.

Beats me, but they certainly do teach people things about Mary that produce worship, in some.

You have not established that.

—"So, then, it is taught in authorized books, that 'it is morally impossible for those to be saved who neglect the devotion to the Blessed Virgin;' that 'it is the will of God that all graces should pass through her hands;' that 'no creature obtained any grace from God, save according to the dispensation of His holy Mother;'

What is the Catholic source of that quote? Can you find all of those contentions in the Catechism?

And I've seen a great many Protestants who seem to revere the Bible far above Jesus Christ and that is worship, or idol worship.

That's how it appears to me as well.

Those You who obey these self imposed rules which are not from God; therefore many continue to believe something that is not true.”

To clarify I was thinking as a whole who are mainstream and not to single out a particular person!

Now that's very gracious of you! Very much so on this forum which is very difficult for real communication.

Jeremiah reminds us that context can only be stretched so far. Others have attempted to soften the blow of De Montforte's writings with "context". But you must understand how it all looks to a protestant.

Again, perhaps the problem is the definition of the word, “worship.”

Anything is possible, but Catholics putting Mary above, ahead of, or in place of Her Son in their worship would be surprising.

Tom Cruise claims that he is both a Scientologist and a Catholic.

LOL! Tom Cruise can claim he's the Easter Bunny if he chooses. So what?

“What is your denomination?
I don’t have a denomination...I believe the Scriptures...I can line up with ‘some’ Presbyterians...There’s a group called the Brethern who appear to me to be close enough to the truth but they put way too much emphasis on the Pauline Epistles to the exclusion of the rest of the Scriptures, in my view...

Independant Baptist churches, in general, appear to me to be as close to scripture as one can get...

I love the worship at Pentecostal services but I don’t agree with some of their beliefs...However, I’ve been to a couple of Baptist churches that will really raise your level of excitement for the Lord...

I’m just a Bible Believing Christian...A sinner saved by Grace... “

Interesting. Thanks. So there are two now who acknowledge they interpret Scripture for themselves.

I am sorry. I was trying to type Catholic Church all along but got lazy. Please just stick “Catholic” in front of Church. I definately wasn’t attempting to make you submit to something you don’t agree with, DungeonMaster.

Do you have any theories as to why the CATHOLIC Church would want to have unknowing Mary worship and not real knowing worship? If you had to hazard a guess, what would you say? Since the practice is expressly forbidden, I’d say that worshippers of Mary are not Catholic; a parallel would be that those who believe that Jesus was a man only are not Christian.

Mary Worship
Birth Control
Abortion
Adultry
Disbelief in the Real Presence
Disbelief in the Trinity
Civic divorce and remarriage
Etc, etc, etc...................

Not many Catholics left!

But what's interesting to me is that it's claimed that these dogmas are the result of direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit, but apparently the Holy Spirit left you guys holding the bag when it came to defining what He meant...

There is no teaching of the RCC which is so clear it cannot be denied, modified, or reinterpreted as required.
