If someone is interested in finding out what the Catholic Church teaches about Mary, why don’t they pick up a Catechism of the Catholic Church and see what it says, rather than reading a tendentious, polemical tract by a Protestant?
“I have an OT question. Are there any patio tomatoes that can be planted in the shade?”
Not that I’m aware of. Tomatoes really need a lot of sunlight. Have you tried cherry tomatoes? You can sit those on a sunny sidewalk or on your deck. I am experiementing this year with container plantings along with my garden. You can also plant “determinate” tomato plants although you may need to order and raise the seed because the store plants are all Better Boy and Big Boy and those types of indeterminates. The determinates are short and don’t need to be staked.
I have a really shady yard.
It’s not that she didn’thave human parents but that the normal rules of Original Sin were suspended in her case. IOW, she got a pass.
FACTS
can be soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
annoying . . .
to those who’s minds are
made-up
and who . . . have alllllll their eggs
in one very leaky basket . . . especially with a big snake in the basket, to boot.
“And a special thanks to OpusatFR for his post 87 and the definitions therein.”
You are welcome.
I’m a she, although prefer the designation of flightless water fowl on the web. ( -;
LOL
However, the magicsterical has not fully ratified every last nth degree of such . . . such as the Co-Redemptrix aspect???
I’m often confused by all the gyrations, perumtations, fantasmagoricalifications
of all the Maryolatry, Maryology, etc.
It must take a whole Convent just to keep track of all the threads getting tacked on over the centuries.
Good post. Thanks. Always good to read a bit from Spurgeon.
The conclusion seems to be that Marian RCs can’t possibly be Christians. They believe in a doctrine that is not Christian doctrine but plagerizes the names and some concepts.
imho,
the idolatries that alllllll
humans have a tendency toward . . .
and some in some groups give into more, on average, than others in other groups do . . .
though all congregations have some such . . .
and probably sooner or later, all individuals have some such . . .
idolatry in any form diminishes our spiritual and sociological clout against the mooooozies.
I think it depends on which part of the
they
they are referring to . . .
and which side of their brain they are speaking out of . . .
and how long it’s been since any kowtowing was done before whatever degree of treasured idol.
If you can get them six hours of sun somewhere, that’s why I mention containers, you can move them, you might able to grow them. They have to have at least six hours.
It's much easier to practice anti-Catholic bigotry when you can quote an anti-Catholic bigot.
It's kind of like anti-Americanism, it's much easier to pull of if you quote the New York Times than if you quote the National Review.
And before anybody reaches the wrong conclusion, I most certainly DID INTEND to compare anti-Catholic bigots to anti-Americans. This IS NOT to say that all Protestants are anti-Catholic bigots, because most are not.
All that means is that was the claim of the last person to edit Wikipedia. Did you check Wikipedia’s source for that? It was a BLOG.
That is not for you to decide.
They believe in a doctrine that is not Christian doctrine but plagerizes the names and some concepts.
Catholicism is THE Christian doctrine, 1900+ years young. The counterfeits are of a far younger vintage.
I used to deny that I worshipped my intellect, too.
I used to deny that I worshipped books, too.
I used to deny that I worshipped various pastors, too.
I used to deny that I worshipped various group affiliations.
Denial is such a handy defense against the truth.
I don’t think that
ANYTHING
which detracts from; hinders; subtracts from; interlopes on
ANY ASPECT
OF
my RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
or
GOD’S ROLE IN MY LIFE
to be harmless.
I could edit that Wikipedia entry to say that fatalities exceeded 50 billion, then quote it here.
It would be just as accurate as what you posted.
