Rev. Hagee's eyes have been opened through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I have to give him credit for opening his heart and his change of heart. Bigotry of any kind wounds the soul.

During the same September 18, 2006, edition of National Public Radio's Fresh Air, Hagee said Hurricane Katrina was an act of God, punishing New Orleans for "a level of sin that was offensive to God."

I wonder if Hagee also believes that the people of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri were also punished for their sins last week when they were devastated by tornados?

Henry Kamen’s “The Spanish Inquisition.” sets the record straight. A scholarly work, not apologetics. He actually combed 250 years of files of the Inquisition. Norman Cantor, the medieval historian, is a Jew and very fair in his assessment of events.

This Catholic forgives Mr Hagee. I hope he will continue learning about the Church, warts and all.

Hyperbolic maybe, but not out of bounds, provided that we follow Lincoln’s advise about trying to read God’s will. I recall a Clint Eastwood movie. One character says.” He deserved to die.” To which the Eastwood character replies, “We all deserve it.”

Amen. Frankly I am astounded. Most of us change our minds only after we cross the threshold.

So therefore, the people of New Orleans, Oklahoma, Missouri, China and Burma all deserve to die?

I read the letter.

Hagee didn't compromise any theological principles. He just apologized for some things he did say but should not have.

We all deserve death, which is why it comes to all.

If he truly does, there will be another Catholic.

‘the darkest chapters in the history of Catholic and Protestant relations with the Jews,’

Now, when will he apologize to the Protestants?

Well, Hallelujah! This now, de-fangs, the poisonous, little, four-eyed, faggot, Keith Olbermann, who insisted (even as recently as the in the last 7 days) on continually refering to John Hagee as “John McCain’s Pastor”.

Whacha gonna do now Keithie? Huh? Hey, I have a great idea; why don’t you turn your venom on the Marxist, racist, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright? Nah; never happen will it Keithie? PUNK!!!

I will believe his apology only if I never hear him adding another anti-Catholic joke to his Sunday worship services which are broadcast in San Antonio.

The movie was “Unforgiven”. My all time favorite Western.

“Why you low life somebitch, you just shot yourself an unarmed man.” Little Bill (Gene Hackman)

“Well he best arm himself, if he is gonna decorate his place of business with my dead friend.” William Monie (Clint Eastwood).

That being said the “Apology” was a liberal “I regret that you took offense through a misunderstanding of what I said”.

Pastor Hagee needs to spend more time in the study of the Catholic faith. Whether he converts or remains as he is, he needs to understand the faith in the context of its place in time. To an illiterate population, the rosary is a wonderful memorization of the gospel, the stations of the cross are a reminder of what our Lord endured for our sake, the crucifix is the place where we all encounter Christ (from below on our knees). The Eucharist where the blessings the Master spoke at the Last Supper are placed, ingested and become a part of us (as he asked us to do).

If John Hagee or any other Christian can find fault with that, then they have a problem with Jesus. Whether, or not, they wish to practice that faith is entirely up to them, but I find it is the most enduring, beautiful legacy God could leave us until He comes again to walk with us in the cool of the day in the garden He meant for us.
