Thank you, Pastor Gruen for the opportunity to ask you some questions. 1. Did you ever hear the rumor that you recanted "aberrant practices "? If so what was your reaction?I was more disappointed, than shocked. I was disappointed that Mike Bickle and/or his I-hop staff would willfully, deliberately spread lies and it continues to this day. I receive several e-mails a month asking if I recanted, etc. (See e-mail I received this week in question #7.)2. What were you going through when you wrote your report?I really received tremendous support locally, and was not attacked by other ministers, so I was at peace.

My husband and I remember hearing Ernie Gruen years ago talk about the documented practices at that time. Needless to say, he wasn't very popular at the time but time has proven he was right.

Some context here, maybe? Never heard of the guy.
The Ernie Gruen report is 233 pages full of info from financial issues to examples of abusive prophecy.
This document, by far is a major blemish on the “Kansas City prophets” record.
I knew I had heard the name "Ernie Gruen" before! See the thread Prophecy Du Jour for some background on the Kansas City Prophets' involvement in the Vineyard Christian Fellowship movement.
Pastor Ernest J. Gruen, 72, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009 at home. (http://www.amosfamily.com/obituaries/)
