My favorite was the cardboard Sherman Tank, with a cardboard tube cannon barrel you made by rolling up cardstock and taping it. It was all a profile you got behind to pretend you were in a tank.

Now that I think about it, the sub my friend got wasn’t a Polaris, didn’t shoot ‘missles’ only torpedoes. I wonder ... yikes! I’m showing my age!
