I've often been appalled by the treatment of the LDS and its members here.

I remember when it was worse than what it is presently. I remember at least one poster who was permanently banned at least in part because he couldn't seem to help himself from taunting and mocking LDS folks and their beliefs.

I thought he was a nice guy otherwise, but I was glad that he was banned.

I remember about 9 years ago, give or take, when I said something pretty nasty about Mormonism. I got two very nice private messages explaining why I was wrong; I verified that yes, I was quite wrong, and my apology was cordially accepted.

I don’t even remember what it was, but I do remember being starkly reminded that I don’t have to agree with someone’s faith to respect them and to respect the value they place on their own beliefs. I try to remember that.
