I will take anyone from any "cult" that believes in and respects those positions

What if the cult was actively teachings its members to lie and obsfucate its history and its teachings. Would you then trust that conservative is telling the truth about their political position? Would you promote an FLDS member? (Because most of them are ultra right-wing conservatives)

my opinion is based on what I have witnessed by their (LDS) actions, in the political arena - like Orin Hatch and others

I have never seen anything from them that appeared to compromise their conservative political position in service of a particular “LDS” position

to take the opposite tack, to me, is to tell politically conservative LDS members that they cannot trust “fundamentalist” or “evangelical” Christians to NOT try to mold conservative political positions to serve just their sectarian interest

I also believe that those most concerned about others compromising our general conservatism for their sectarian interest are in fact those who would most readily do what they say they fear others would do

that is not the way to build allies, particularly when we need them so much
