Nice.....
And you continue to wonder why Christians....oppose mormonism?
BTW, do you think that FLDS being in the news has had any effect on the number of LDS threads?
Are you serious?
Signed by invincibily ignorant, a non-mormon.
In my opinion, you are a blatent liar and I’m calling you out.
Here is a link to the thread about the Mormon missionaries. You can read for yourself why it was locked.

Go to the last page of this thread. It was MORMON trolls who got the thread locked.

See my page by clicking my name to see refutations that were so common I just made a page at FR to address them.
Are you going to be consistent then & "hose down" any & all FR challenges to Islam?
Are all of those challenges to Islam as you put it, "religion bashing?"
Is "any" "negative" comment about Islam "bigotry?"
Are you or will you be encouraging Muslim thread-posters to have had it & post millions of pro-Muslim threads? (And do you expect few challenges to such content?)
Do you expect that when your faith labels as "Scripture" verses from the Pearl of Great Price that describes our faith as 100% credally "abominable" to your god as something to be acclaimed?
Are we remiss for not giving a standing ovation to Joseph Smith?
Or when the same verses describe the "professors" of all Christian sects as 100% "corrupt" are we to conclude, "Boy, keep those 'Scriptures' coming. We just LOVE the way they slam us!"
Their most recent project is trying to blur the fact that the polygamous FLDS is a separate and distinct religion from ours, just as Lutherans are a separate and distinct religion from Catholicism.
I am a Protestant. And no, Catholicism is NOT a different "religion." They are branches of the same faith, Christianity. Even LDS official writings (contemporary) will tell you that LDS do NOT consider themselves a branch of Protestantism.
Why is it "OK" for you & other Mormons to impose your definition of "religion" upon me & others, but you scream bloody murder when we establish distinct boundaries between Mormonism & Christianity?
Why is it you are able to have the gall to tell us that our faith expressions, though distinct, are totally different religions when in fact most of the Christians I know see Catholicism & Protestantism as one in the same basic faith with key distinctions?
Why is it on these threads that so many Mormons have insisted to our face that they want to label all Christian sects simultaneously as both "apostates" of the faith but at the same time say to us, "You know, we're 'Christians,' too." (Well, which is it?
Are we 'apostates' or 'Christians?').
If you're 'Christians,' too and we're 'apostates' to you, then what are you?
Why is it that we are demonized when we try to draw faith boundaries between 'Christians' and 'Mormons,' and when Mormons insist they are "one" in Christ that's OK?
But if a Christian sees fLDS as a distinct denominational affiliation of the overall 'Mormon' faith, that Christian is anathematized? (What? We're now to blame for the reality that fundamentalist Mormons are Mormon?)
Why is it that LDS posters like Edward Watson can say on these posts that "Of course, LDS is Christian" and that it's a branch of Mormonism, and I don't see any other LDS contending with him on that...but dare a Christian say the latter portion of that, and look out!!!
WHERE'S THE CONSISTENCY???
When Pope John Paul died, the thread were awful.
Now I don’t know the religious beliefs of every person who posted but there were lots and lots of posts pulled.
This “I’m a victim” theme gets old. All faiths get ridiculed.
Fine by me, and best wishes and all that. I sometimes read LDS Caucus posts and find inspiration.

I understand how you feel, but I see so many different religions on here claiming they are victims. Let’s face it, Catholics don’t Protestants, and visa versa, etc. etc. I do not get all upset when I read that I am wrong because I am a Protestant, and perhaps we all should just consider the source and go on. I am opposed to the bashing, so I don’t do it. Those that do have to answer for themselves, but I am not going to let it ruin my day.

I can’t think of a thread that nails it right on the head as this one does.
What would I have to do or say to get you to rethink this? Why would you want to clutter this News Forum with unnecessary posts that will only provoke further acrimonious remonstration? The facts of your faith have always been beyond the grasp of many. Nothing you say will change the minds of most. You seem to feel that you are misunderstood. I am sure that your proselytizing is usually understood, yet summarily rejected.
The Angel Moroni may have shown golden plates to your revered Prophet Joseph Smith, that chronicled the visitation of Jesus to an ancient indigenous tribe in America that was the lost tribe of Israel. With no intent to bash, I can safely say that most people outside your faith feel that is a very broad notion for a person to wrap his mind around.
In spite of that, I do admire the religion that your belief has grown into, for its staunch conservative values, for its penchant for caring for all individuals within the community and even outsiders in need, and its ability, up until now, to stay above the petty attacks from some quarters. I urge you to continue to travel the upper highway instead of meandering down the alleyway with the Philistines.
On the side of beauty and taste, vulgarity; on the side of morals and feeling, coarseness; on the side of mind and spirit, unintelligence, -- this is Philistinism. --M. Arnold.
“Someone mature and confident in their own faith generally
doesn’t feel the need to belittle the faith of others.”
Like that Apostle Paul, who was obviously immature and insecure in his faith!
“But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to
you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he
is to be accursed!
“As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is
preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he
is to be accursed!

Borrowed from Tax-Chick and in full agreement.
I’m sorry LDS people. We Catholics get it too.
But let me tell you, some of the nicest FReepers are Non-Mormon and Non-Catholic.
Usual Suspects and Bad Apples are downright UnChristian.
Bring it on, Bro! The historical facts, as set forth in the sermons, writings, and early publications by the LDS founding fathers cannot be denied, no matter how hard you try, and ultimately your attempt to "hose" us critics down will go no where.
Good luck!
Okay....here's some simple quotes from one of the founders of mormonism, the much honored B.Young.
Are these bashing?
Are they falsehoods?
Is B. Young lying?
"For unbelievers we will quote from the Scriptures - "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God." Again - "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God." I will now give my scripture - "Whosoever confesseth that Joseph Smith was sent of God to reveal the holy Gospel to the children of men, and lay the foundation for gathering Israel, and building up the kingdom of God on the earth, that spirit is of God; and every spirit that does not confess that God has sent Joseph Smith, and revealed the everlasting Gospel to and through him, is of Antichrist....... - B.Young
Here's one for mormon's...
"Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned; and I will go still further and say, take this revelation, or any other revelation that the Lord has given, and deny it in your feelings, and I promise that you will be damned. - JoD 3:266 (July 14, 1855)
It is true that the earth was organized by three distinct characters, namely, Eloheim, Yahovah, and Michael, these three forming a quorum, as in all heavenly bodies, and in organizing element, perfectly represented in the Deity, as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Again, they will try to tell how the divinity of Jesus is joined to his humanity, and exhaust all their mental faculties, and wind up with this profound language, as describing the soul of man, "it is an immaterial substance!" What a learned idea! Jesus, our elder brother, was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven. Now, let all who may hear these doctrines, pause before they make light of them, or treat them with indifference, for they will prove their salvation or damnation.
I have given you a few leading items upon this subject, but a great deal more remains to be told. Now, remember from this time forth, and for ever, that Jesus Christ was not begotten by the Holy Ghost. - JoD 1:50-51 (April 9, 1852)
The rank, rabid abolitionists, whom I call black-hearted Republicans, have set the whole national fabric on fire. Do you know this, Democrats? They have kindled the fire that is raging now from the north to the south, and from the south to the north. I am no abolitionist, neither am I a proslavery man; I hate some of their principles and especially some of their conduct, as I do the gates of hell. The Southerners make the negroes, and the Northerners worship them; this is all the difference between slaveholders. and abolitionists. I would like the President of the United States and all the world to hear this.
Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so. - JoD: vol.10 p. 110: (March 8, 1863)
I dunno...but looks like ol' B. Young was pretty good at bashings. And you wonder why Christians question your religion?
Any FReeper that would like more quotes...they are freely available.
Personally I think the mormon church would like many quotes of J. Smith and B. Young....and countless other "prophets" to disappear...But they won't, despite the efforts of the mormon church.
"God is the same yesterday, today and forever.".....
And I pray for mormons everyday.
