It's a good thing that I am a rough, tough, former deputy and very manly man or else I would have this bug in my eye that makes me get tearful and, inexplicably, thank God for your posts.

But I AM a VERY manly man (They scrape sweat off of me and distill it for the testosterone), so of course, I HAVE to say, "You're both full of it."

(But I will add, may we all be filled with reconciling love.)

As a manly man myself, it isn't uncommon for me to choke when confronted by the love of God demonstrated by Jesus for someone like me who doesn't deserve it.

At Christmas, I haven't been able to get through this:

Nails, spear shall pierce Him through, The cross be borne for me, for you.

What punishment so strange is suffered yonder! The Shepherd dies for sheep that loved to wander; The Master pays the debt His servants owe Him, Who would not know Him.

The sinless Son of God must die in sadness; The sinful child of man may live in gladness; Man forfeited his life and is acquitted, -- God is committed.
