But I AM a VERY manly man (They scrape sweat off of me and distill it for the testosterone), so of course, I HAVE to say, "You're both full of it."
(But I will add, may we all be filled with reconciling love.)
At Christmas, I haven't been able to get through this:
Nails, spear shall pierce Him through, The cross be borne for me, for you.
Lent: O Dearest Jesus, What Law Hast Thou Broken?
Whence come these sorrows, whence this mortal anguish? It is my sins for which Thou, Lord, must languish Yea, all the wrath, the woe, Thou dost inherit, This I do merit!
What punishment so strange is suffered yonder! The Shepherd dies for sheep that loved to wander; The Master pays the debt His servants owe Him, Who would not know Him.
The sinless Son of God must die in sadness; The sinful child of man may live in gladness; Man forfeited his life and is acquitted, -- God is committed.
Easter: Jesus Christ is risen today
Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia! unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia! who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia! sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!
