This was posted to the Religion forum, if it shows up in the News forum, it is because the mods moved it there.
I seem to recall something about those living in glass houses...
Why is this here? Spare us, we don’t want to read this.
It is time for someone to get on the phone and call Jim!!
Rail & rant....
This brings to mind doctrines of Grieving the Holy Spirit and Quenching the Holy Spirit.
There is an interesting truth that those who continue to rebel from God, don’t just reach a stable plateau and achieve their own personal nirvana. Rather, those who stray from the Lord, be it believer or unbeliever, should they continue to rebel from His Plan, end up in situations where their hearts become more hardened.
The fallacy amongst those who stray away from Him, is that they are tempted into believing anything and many things separate from Him.
When reality faces the arrogant sinner, there is a conflict between the sinner’s perceptions and what he/she had conceived the world should become. Two trends evolve from such degeneracy. First, is arrogance, where the degenerate thinker places primacy on anything but God. This is then followed by frustration, when the truth of reality conflicts with the degenerate thinker’s past wrong thinking. Then advances into reaction to anything which conflicts with the sinner’s thinking.
In its advanced stages, the heart becomes hardened and criminal behavior may ensue.
There is also a tendency beyond grieving the Holy Spirit, where the believer steps out of fellowship with God, if not unchecked to further degenerate into quenching the Holy Spirit, where the sinner actually wants to target God as his enemy.
For the believer who falls into this degenerate thinking process, he becomes the most miserable of all people. For God chastises those whom He loves, and when the degenerate or backslidden believer further rebels, not only is he disciplined by God, later seven times greater than previous chastisements, but then there is a trend for the degenerate believer to either become very legalistic, attempting to change things on his own, or very lascivious, reacting to misery in a frantic search for happiness.
This is then followed by guilt and or by judging others.
This well explains why some believers who fall out of fellowship can become some of the most notorious criminals in history. It also explains why some believers become remorse to the point of suicide or have even been known as serial killers.
With respect to unbelievers, there is a natural affinity to not only rebel from God, but to further degenerate into attacking Him and anything He provides. Note the behavior of the gay community which attempts to counterfeit religion as an attempt to avoid the consequences of their sin, and further degeneracy into rebellion against anything holy or conversely becoming either lascivious or extremely legalistic.
