So is this mainstream evangelical thought or is it all tinfoil?
That’s a good question.
I don’t know that I’ve seen stats on it.
However,
OVER 80% OF THE NATIONAL GENERAL POPULATION of the USA believes that UFO’s are real and that the government is lying about them.
And, the best quality research on probabilities on such indicate that there may well be well over 3 MILLION abductees . . . and counting.
Even my relative has an implant in his earlobe that moved under it’s own locomotion (a common phenomenon that shocks medical personnel uninitiated in such things] when the Doc tried to remove it. He suspects it was inserted when he worked around such things.
This is tinfoil hat stuff.
You mentioned "reformed" several times. Reformed folk tend to be very theologically discerning (Eph. 4:14) and they would not touch it with a ten foot pole. BTW, thats also why most reformed folks stay away from speculative futurist dispensationalism. It's just plain bad theology.
I can understand why some pentecostals might get caught up in it since they have already opened themselves to spiritual oddities. But I would not think it is normative even among pentecostals.
