But he rose again from the dead. He’s not on the cross anymore.
Matt 7:21 "Not every one who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. [22] On that day many will say to me, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'
Matt 25:11 Afterward the other maidens came also, saying, `Lord, lord, open to us.'
Luke 6:46 "Why do you call me `Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?
1 Corinthians 9:27 but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore let any one who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.
Galatians 5:1,4 . . . stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery . . . You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
Philippians 3:11-14 that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own . . . I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.
1 Timothy 5:15 For some have already strayed after Satan.
Hebrews 3:12-14 Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day . . . that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we share in Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.
Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God, and the powers of the age to come, if they then commit apostasy . . .
2 Peter 2:15,20-21 Forsaking the right way they have gone astray; they have followed the way of Balaam, . . . For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overpowered, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.
Who denies that? The Catholic Church does not.
Did some fool teach you it does?
Because I'm ELECT and I have the vanity plates to prove it!
***LOLOL. Well, ignoring your personally-offensive comment, I submit the whole of the written English language, with a little Gaellic thrown in for additional flavor.
If and when you get around to substantiating your erroneous opinions with the word of God, be sure to ping me.***
You may wish to consider substantiating your prose before posting it; what little witticism there is, is lost amongst the misspellings and grammatical errors.
Your theology, as I understand is derived from the outpourings of such spiritual giants as Luther and Calvin. My theology (not my opinion, which further illustrates the theological gulf between us) is constructed by the Church, by the Apostles and by Jesus Christ himself.
You may wish to be offended as you so choose. Myself, I choose the Church, and the Christ who founded it and the Holy Spirit who commissioned it.
***DING! DING! DING!!!
We have a winner, folks!
The church at Rome wrote the Bible!!!***
Nice of you to admit it. The truth will set you free.
Don't leave out Machen!
***The OPC does not contain the many and gross errors of the RCC***
The OPC was constructed from the decaying heap of the Presbyterian movement in the United States a handful of decades ago. It is built upon the errors of the groups that splintered and splintered and splintered before it.
Its theology is no better and in certain instances is worse than the Presbyterianism of John Knox, which rivals the Arianism in its heresies - only in the other direction.
French, lawyer, false doctrine. 3 strikes and ya can start your own church.
Believing the bible will lead one to error...But yet you claim your church is based on the bible...And the error filled bible has given your church the authority to determine what part of the bible is in error...
So the bible isn't full of truth, your church is full of truth...Interesting quagmire you've put yurselves into...
Well, I hope God has mercy on you folks at that judgement you're looking to...I hope you do enough good works to make it count...
***Then you ought to really consider the words of the WCF
I do. Every word based on Scripture.***
Even satan can quote Scripture for his own purposes.
"He performed many works in that conversation. He accepted Christ; he attempted to save another (the other thief), he preached the Gospel." [excerpt]
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Romans 9:31-32
Tons of them around here...Some people even put lights in them...Must be Jesus is sitting behind the tubs since He's nowhere to be found...
***Sheer arrogance. When these letters and gospels were written they werent written by Catholics because there WERE NO CATHOLICS in the first century.
You can tout the Bible as the Catholic gift to the world, fact remains that Catholics didnt write it.***
Umm, the epistles from James through Jude are called the Catholic letters. Maybe you might actually read your Bible in order to find out what’s there.
Always read that as bringing in the elders of the church, not priests. Mustn’t make up your own scriptures now, Petronski.
The WCF has a very pronounced passage where it called the Pope the Anti Christ.
I was merely attempting to get the good Dr. E. to say whether she considered the Pope to be the Anti Christ.
She appears to be very coy about answering.
You twist my words with fork-ed tongue. I said no such thing.
Hubby was so relieved when he was born again to realize that God’s grace would not leave him and that he could just ask for Him to forgive his sins and it was done. Burden lifted.
Dr. E. already knows the truth. Get on board.
