They’ll show up...let’s call these posts the “In Before the ‘How Dare These Boys Disrepect Their Family’s Faith by Going to the Media—the Ingrates!’ Crowd Arrives.”
It is easy to say, "That's just a propaganda cartoon; anyone could make something disparaging like that." However, the info in this video clip is in accord with everything else I've ever read about LDS.
What's really creepy about this is how some of the details are thematically similar to another, mid-20th-century-invented "religion"....
Then there are all the Old Testament names that associate him with being our Lord
1) The Lord that sees
2) The Lord our Righteousness
3) The Lord our Healer
4) The Lord our Savior
5) The Lord of Lords
6) The Lord of Hosts
7) The Lord of All
8) The Lord our God
Think of the word prophet in its original meaning which is one that speaks the word of God.
I think He qualifies quite well under that definition, since He is the Word.
John Chapter 1
1) In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God...
14) .. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
Now that has to be the funniest post of the day.
Riders of the Purple Sage, yep. Always worth a re-read.
Banjos and Bibles,
never a good mix ;)
_____
Bill Monroe might disagree.
New Riders of the Purple Sage, yep. Always worth a listen.
Here is an essay written by Steve Martin about the banjo:

Breed incestuously..
That is sickness right there. The father looks at his offspring as something to "breed."

I like dancing to banjos (Izzy does it best).
Well, this officially creeps me out.
Whatever you have to tell youself to keep impregnating(raping)young girls I guess.
ANd...?
On October 8, 1854, Brigham Young made these controversial comments: "Then I reckon that the children of Adam and Eve married each other; this is speaking to the point. I believe in sisters marrying brothers, and brothers having their sisters for wives.... "This is something pertaining to our marriage relation. The whole world will think what an awful thing it is. What an awful thing it would be if the Mormons should just say we believe in marrying brothers and sisters. Well we shall be under the necessity of doing it, because we cannot find anybody else to marry." (The Teachings of President Brigham Young, Compiled and Edited by Fred C. Collier, Vol. 3, pages 362, 368)
Is God a prophet?
susie
I understand where you are coming from. Especially looking at Matthew 16
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
In that sense - and in every real sense - Jesus was much more that a prophet being God with us.
And to continually refer to Him as another prophet is not having a revelation of who He really is.
As Thomas put it so well. My Lord and My God.
Thank you.
I know Islam considers Jesus just another prophet.

“Johnson said that Smith told him that polygamy was the only way in which prostitution could be eliminated.”
Nice ploy. Is it just me or are these fellows abnormally horny?
Derangement is as derangement does.
