I am thy father’s spirit,
Doom’d for a certain term to walk the night,
And for the day confined to fast in fires,
Till the foul crimes done in my days of nature
Are burnt and purged away.

Shakespeare was Catholic.Shakespeare was an Anglican. He lived in Protestant England governed by Elizabeth.
His daughter, Susannah, married the Puritan, John Hall, a close friend of Shakespeare's.
Most all biographers agree Shakespeare was an Anglican with reformed leanings.
His writings certainly attest to that persuasion.
