I see a contradiction between the two rules, and I’m asking for clarification.
In particular, I note that claiming personal authority (as opposed to referencing a third person as an authority) would seem to be an act of “making it personal”. If “making it personal” is disallowed, then setting oneself up as an authority should be disallowed.
