It's not just a matter of "postulat[ing] that the Catholics are wrong."

There is also a persistent, pernicious, pervasive misstatement of what we believe ... often to the point of reversing the meaning. And the misstatements are repeated in the face of repeated statements of what we actually do believe.

This goes beyond mere dishonest rhetoric. It is an outright slander of every Catholic, both individually and corporately.

Exodus 20:16

It's not just a good idea. It's THE LAW.

Just the other day I pointed out how they take our belief "b" and reverse it to "not(b)," then castigate us for believing "not(b)" and rejecting the truth of "b."

It's all very diabolical.

Malleable memory / malleable reality. What we actually say and think doesn't feed the pathology. What feeds the pathology is our response. As long as there is any hope that the response will show that we were bothered by what they say, they'll keep on saying it.

It's not that hard to tell the Protestants who care about the subject from the ones who care about the pain they can cause.

In related news my projects for this Eastertide are praying for the grace to forgive and praying for the grace to rejoice in my sufferings.
