The Blessed Virgin Mother of God, as the preeminant saint and member of the Church, by her loving obedience and cooperation in the Incarnation, by her sufferings at the cross, and by her present prayer and intercession in heaven, has indeed brought salvation to the body of Christ, and redemption to the whole world. This way she really is the Co-Redemptrix of humanity and Mediatrix of all graces.

Blasphemy.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" -- 1 Timothy 2:5

"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am GOD, and there is none else." -- Isaiah 45:22

"None else."

For those with ears to hear and eyes to see.

Dear Doctor, here's one of the basic rules of honest conversation: find out what the other person is actually saying. And here's how you find out: ask him.

You could have saved yourself a great deal of needless aggravation if you had expressed yourself thus:

"You Catholics are causing me a great deal of concern because you speak of Mary as having a mediating role. So, tell me: what do you mean by this? Do you mean that she is on a par with Jesus Christ as a mediator between God and Man? Or do you think, rather, that she has a limited, creaturely, dependent, and subordinate role of praying to God for others, just as all Christians offer intercessory prayers for others? Please explain."

You'd have gotten an answer along these lines:

"It's entirely the latter, dear Doctor. Mary, who is not a goddess but is rather, in her own words, a handmaid, prays for us to God."

And you might respond, "Thank you, I hoped that would be your explanation. Now, I want to dispute with you about how Mary prays... or when Mary prays... or for whom Mary prays..." (or whatever, making any objection you like, but not repeatedly accusing us of a meaning which was never intended on our part.)

That's the crux of it. Nobody minds the repeated restatement of your position. What we mind is the repeated misstatement of our position.

Your comments are always welcomed when they are fairminded and do not attribute to us wht we do not believe.
