A Fantastic analysis. This explains very well why evangelicals are falling for the rot of liberalism. Because it's in their churches as well and they don't even recognize it there!

They suddenly wake up and see something's wrong when homosexuality or extramarital sex becomes OK or at least overlook-able, but they never seem to see what GAVE RISE to such an idea. It needs to be challenged in the arena of thought before it becomes behavior. People who wait for behavior to indicate when they should separate fellowship are those who betray their own moralistic view of religion, rather than one of belief and faith.

I’m part of a church that has modern worship music, drama during the service, film clips, bible verses on overheads, and the like. The gospel message of Christ on the cross, his sacrifice for our sins, is repeated at every single service. Sometimes people make the mistake of thinking that traditional forms only can give the gospel message. That is not true. It’s ironic that this sort of idea floats out on the internet where conservatives post their youtube videos and blogs bring down the old media and make fools of them . . . the form of the message is not the content.

As a life long (I was enrolled in the Cradle Roll over 66 years ago) Southern Baptist, I am very sad that I can’t tell my church from Liberal politics.

An excellent summary. As every Christian is commanded to test all things, examine doctrine, focus on making disciples rather than entertaining - we must pay heed to what goes on in our churches and hold our elders accountable for what is taught and who the focus is. Too many churches focus on man first, with a nod to God.

Unfortunately, the “Seeker-Sensitive” churches have nothing to offer for the “seekers” to find.

By failing to stand on principle. As I have argued in Liberalism 101, liberalism (i.e., the worldview of the left) has almost complete control of America. It is our "unofficial state religion." But since liberalism is largely false, John Q. Public senses (even if he cannot articulate it) that something is seriously wrong with the ideas and policies he is relentlessly taught by the schools, the media and even, God help us, by many clergy. This being the case, there is a major market for "conservatism," that is, articulate opposition to liberalism. People have a felt need to have their intuitions vindicated.

This might help from Websters Dictionary:

Liberal: Not Restricted to the Literal Meaning of Things.

In other words, liberals in religion and politics and life are not restricted to the literal meaning of a bible, a constitution, a contract, a pronouncement, a statement, a promise, a declaration, an explanation, a sermon, a speech, their word or even anyone else's.

I wish every conservative Christian would read this article.
