FRESNO, Calif., Feb 11, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- In a project guaranteed to spark controversy and pique interest, Flipside Christian Church of Madera Ranchos is inviting people to church using what at first glance appears to be an X-Rated web site. The site, http://www.yourultimatelover.com asks the viewer questions about their "Ultimate Lover." Once the link is accessed the viewer is taken to the church's web site for information about a new series on love. The project hits homes in the area with newspaper inserts, and a postcard advertisement about the "yourultimatelover" web site. The site and campaign are designed to encourage attendance during a special series on love through the month of February at Flipside Church, which meets at Liberty High School, off Hwy 41 and Ave. 12 between Fresno and Madera.
Karl Roth, pastor for Flipside, says, "So many people automatically tune out the message of Jesus because of it's wrapping of the local church. Christ is the "Ultimate Lover," the lover of people like me who are screwed up. We want to help people draw a connection between what they most seek, love, and the real God who really loves them ... just like they are."
Flipside Church has an ambitious goal to begin a church campus near every town along the 99 corridor between Madera and Bakersfield, and to help plant 30 churches in the next 30 years. According to Flipside Church Lead Pastor Roth, "Project 99 will insure that no resident who lives in a community near the 99 will have to drive far to get to a place that is committed to meeting their spiritual needs and letting them know how much God loves them and wants them to experience a great life. Flipside Church is an exciting first step in our strategy to be one church in multiple locations as we transform the spiritual landscape of the San Joaquin Valley."
Flipside, and each additional campus will feature full service ministry for youth and children and will offer Flipside Church's trademark style, which Roth describes as a "rock concert party at church."
Just two years old, the non-denominational Flipside Church has grown to 400 attenders and is planning another venue in the Ranchos, one in Reedley, is part of the leading church plant assessment center, and will soon be working in Cuba to train pastors and plant churches.
Flipside meets at 9:30 and 11:00 AM at Liberty High School in Madera Ranchos and features Flipside Kids' ministry, Flip N Out ministry for students, and many activities for adults such as the Flipside Gun Club and Motorcycle Club.

Reminds me of Tony Campolo feeling Jesus 'penetrating' him as he was praying in bed.
Sick sick sick
Here's a couple that really has the seeker sensitive, sex-obsessed-church thing down:

Actually it looks like a web page from a cheesy dating service.

Where is the script this church uses? There is a church in Charlotte that is using an identical script. It is called Next Level Church one of their websites is IdoubtGod.com and they have a "project 485" where they intend to plant a church at every exit on the 485 loop around Charlotte. And their most recent stunt was giving out shot glasses at bars with the church logo on them. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1953874/posts
Is there a school that is teaching these churches? The similarities cannot just be consequences.
What’s sick is Christians believing they need to deceive people to hear the message of God. There is very little faith anymore in believing God will deliver His message and change people’s hearts. Instead we resort to satanic trickery instead of the power of God.
Maybe there’s a program you can buy for “How to build lots of churches that don’t believe anything but have a rock band near the highway.” Like a Vacation Bible School package :-).
Next Level has a nice new parking lot.
I know what you mean

shows how bad at our churches may get and why this is happening
Sex Church Pastors Manufacture Controversy
A Little Leaven has an excellent post about the media manipulation engaged in by the sex series churches.
These are the ones who put up deliberately offensive billboards in cities to promote their series of messages on sex.
Chris at
A Little Leaven sets up the steps these churches
follow to get maximum headlines in local and sometimes national media.
The more offensive their billboards and promotion materials,
the better chance of ending up on national news,
which, of course, serves their promotional purposes just fine.
The only problem is, where do they go from here?
Once the media and the public is accustomed to giant billboards screaming,
God Loves Sex and so forth,
their promotional strategy is going to flop.
This is where things will get even more edgy.
Pastors are going to have to actually stage something
of a sexual nature to draw crowds and TV cameras.
After all, you bluenosed fundamentalists,
God created sex, so whats your problem?, they will say.
I will repeat my previous prediction that we will see this
kind of thing within the next 3-5 years if not sooner.
We already have a Christian sex magazine for women, its only a matter of time.
Remember you read it here first.

My wife and I heard on the news yesterday a slice from one of these “minister” and how the news was touting them. The website you posted is spot on. It’s all about money and publicity-not about sharing God’s word. We send missionaries all over the world when, in actuality, we need them here.
I agree considering how bad our churches are getting, we need missionaires NOW more than ever here in the states
