The Trinity doctrine is not supportable by the scriptures, and in fact contradicted by a long string of verses, so why believe it? Why not just say "I don't know"?Because tradition must be preserved even at the cost of truth.
The Saducees and Pharisees of Jesus' time felt that way as do the religious leaders of today.
