While maybe you would hope we'd assume those paragraphs were written by God, they were actually from the pen of (someone no doubt without an axe to grind) Eugene J. Fisher, Associate Director, Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs, National Conference of Catholic Bishops, USA.

Reviews by Catholics are to be considered not worthy, but recommendations by those with an axe to grind against the Catholic church are? How convenient. By the way, the quote, while written by a Catholic, was taken off a website for Calvin College. Apparently they thought it was worthy enough to warrant consideration.

In any case, here is one by a non-Catholic I had ready since I anticipated you'd be casting aspersions: Blood Libel. Scroll down to page 28. Here is the first paragraph:

I his book The Popes Against the Jews, David Kertzer devotes three chapters to the horrific allegation that Jews engaged in the ritual murder of Christian children during the Passover holiday. Jews were accused of using the children's blood in the unleavened bread eaten at the Passover meal. Yet he makes little mention of the relevant and indisputable historical fact that a succession of popes since the twelfth century (when the accusation of ritual murder was first made) condemned this libel.
See the link for more. The book you've recommended is a real jewel. Axe, meet grindstone.

Yes, I saw the source for your review when I added the attribution you neglected to give. Calvin College hears all points of view. That review was not endorsed by the college, merely offered.

Free speech, and all.

It's helpful if you keep in mind that most Jews who find themselves in the position of defending the church in Rome are those Jews who still desire the Vatican's approval of Israel's very right to exist.

Those who speak out about the complicity of Rome before, during and after the war owe nothing to anyone other than the truth.
