I would imagine the War on Terror has made signals intelligence (Echelon et al) a top priority to prevent future terrorist attacks. OTOH, under the current administration, I also imagine they are not screening for religious beliefs except perhaps radical Islamic keywords or phrases, e.g. suicidal intentions.

However, it seems reasonable to me that an administration which would have a "bone to pick" with fundamentalist Christians [Clinton or Obama] would also be looking for Christian keywords or phrases under the pretext of preventing another Timothy McVeigh. And from that, it would be only a short step to an international clampdown on Christianity at large.
