A guy who lived a little over two thousand years ago and tried to do good at the time.
He attracted followers who, when he died, suddenly found themselves without any more power, so made up a story to convince others to allow them the power they so craved.
IE:
“Dang it, he’s dead! What’re we gonna do now!?!”
“I know, we’ll tell ‘em he’ll come back someday. Yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket!”
“John, you are da MAN! We are on the gravy train for LIFE!”

You stated,

He attracted followers who, when he died, suddenly found themselves without any more power, so made up a story to convince others to allow them the power they so craved.
Mark 3:
14: And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
15: And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
So you see the Holy Bible is clear about the fact that Jesus who is God in the flesh gave them power to do miracles.
It did not stop after the death and resurrection of Jesus as Peter's shadow would heal people.
Mark 16:
14: Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
15: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18: They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19: So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20: And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
This is the power that is given to believers through the Holy Ghost as Jesus promised. He promised that shortly after his Ascension into heaven the comforter will come

John, you are da MAN! We are on the gravy train for LIFE!Well, FWIW, for most of them that was a rather short life, a laborious gravy train, and a painful and unjust death.

Followers, who woudn't renounce their story that Jesus had risen from the dead. Followers who would sooner die then renounce their faith in Jesus as the Son of God. A story that you say is a lie. Would you give your life for a story that you knew to be a lie?
