NEW YORK, N.Y. (Catholic League) - Yesterday, Senator John McCain said he was very honored by Pastor John Hagees endorsement.
The Republican presidential hopeful also called Hagee the staunchest leader of our Christian evangelical movement, citing the ministers pro-Israel stance.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue addressed this today:
There are plenty of staunch evangelical leaders who are pro-Israel, but are not anti-Catholic. John Hagee is not one of them. Indeed, for the past few decades, he has waged an unrelenting war against the Catholic Church.
For example, he likes calling it The Great Whore, an apostate church, the anti-Christ, and a false cult system. To hear the bigot in his own words, click here. http://youtube.com/watch?v=uViQ0hVV57Q
Note: he isnt talking about the Buddhists.
In Hagees latest book, Jerusalem Countdown, he calls Hitler a Catholic who murdered Jews while the Catholic Church did nothing. The sell-out of Catholicism to Hitler began not with the people but with the Vatican itself, he writes.
For the record, Hitler persecuted the Catholic Church and was automatically excommunicated in 1931two years before he assumed powerwhen he acted as best man at Joseph Goebbels Protestant wedding. Hitler even bragged about his separation from the Church.
As for doing nothing about the Holocaust, Sir Martin Gilbert reminds us that Goebbels denounced Pope Pius XII for his 1942 Christmas message criticizing the Nazis (the New York Times lauded the pope for doing so in an editorial for two years in a row).
Much to Hagees chagrin, Gilbert also says that Pius XII saved three quarters of the Jews in Rome, and that more Jews were saved proportionately in Catholic countries than Protestant countries. Indeed, Israeli diplomat Pinchas Lapide credited the Catholic Church with saving 860,000 Jews. No religion can match that.

Oh my. ROFLMAO You don't seem as embarrassed as you ought to be.
Blush for me, will ya?
Calvinists don’t blush?
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth" -- Romans 1:16
God will handle them, ccmay. He will expose their deeds in good time like He did with Ted Haggard. Of course he isn’t happy with what they do, but he still doesn’t want us criticizing them the way we do. That’s a sin, too.
I know you quote much; how about when slandering Christ’s Church 24/7?
Hitler was a satanist and a very paganNew Ager,a believer in Norse myths. Nothing even remorely christian about him. In fact he persecuted the professing church just as vigorously as he did other groups, hanging pastors with piano wire.
Well sure looks like infant baptism didn’t save him
whom?
old Hitler
Baptism saves till the first mortal sin, after which confession and penance are necessary to restore the state of baptismal grace.
lol. Baptism doesn't save anyone. Only Christ on the cross saves whom God has given faith in His Son.
It's all the same "new age" fables and lies. All the same. Either Christ alone saves the fallen sinner, or someone or something else provides salvation.
It's all the same error, some just better dressed than others.
Pacelli and the Enabling Acts give us the most accurate historical perspective.
And don't let anyone tell you the (Roman Catholic) author recanted. He didn't. He said maybe he was too harsh in his assessment of the obliging laity. But that's it.
I don't make it personal, Alex. I'm sorry you just did.
Yes, I was referring to your shamelessness personally, “doctor”.
Whatever. You used to be a much more pleasant poster, Alex. I hope your life is going well.
I am a very pleasant poster whenever I consider the conversation partner honorable, which is to say, nearly all the time.
I am also a very happy man.
You should try to be pleasant all the time, Alex. Better for your blood pressure.
It just figures you would quote a deceitful book like that.
