“Babies are innocent. They have no knowledge of sin or right and wrong. Of course your baby is in heaven. Would our God send an infant to hell or limbo because they’re not baptized? Of course not, Claud.”

Respectfully:

“Babies are innocent. They have no knowledge of sin or right and wrong.”

Surely you are not forgetting this:

Psalm 51:5: Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

We are born with sinful hearts, our nature is oppossed to God from the time we are conceived (Read any of Paul’s epistles).

And then think about this in conjunction:

Acts 22:16: And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’

God washes away our sin in Holy Baptism, we are rendered dead to the world joining Christ in His death to be sealed by the Holy Spirit as God’s own to be raised with Christ.

“Of course your baby is in heaven. Would our God send an infant to hell or limbo because they’re not baptized? Of course not, Claud.”

While I pray that this is true we never will know for sure. Unborn children are in God’s hands and I know that our God is merciful God but His will be done.

Blessings.

Yes, we are born with a sinful nature, but the knowledge of that sin is not in an infant. God doesn’t assign an unbaptized infant to hell just because your church says so. He says to suffer the little children to come unto HIM. That doesn’t sound like he’s ready to throw them into hell to me.
