Forgiving someone doesn’t wipe out the demands of justice. Neither does the demand of justice negate love or prayer. The often forgotten justice is that which is required between us and society; the one that demands that we obey laws. There is no other way to build a just society.

I’m not saying we should just pray and not call the cops. By all means, call the fuzz. Justice be done.

But we should temper our thirst for vengance. There is a reason why stuff like this always gets pulled off against Christianity. It is because Christians act differently than those who belong to other religious groups. It is because He told us to love our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us.
