“May you have MANY children” USED to be a blessing!
I have a coffee cup (and I gave them to some of my friends :-), that says:
Health and long life to you,
Land without rent to you,
A child a year to you,
And may you die in Ireland.
I don’t have a baby this year (as I have every even-numbered year for a long time) because of needing to assist my parents, and I feel very sad about it.
