We have our instructions from the Lord and from His Church.
You may or may not have received the Holy Spirit via another venue, I cannot say. All I know is that we attempt to do as we are instructed.
For protestants, the church is the Body of Christ, not one particular denomination. I trust our spirit-filled pastors to recognize whether or not we truly are filled with the Holy Spirit and it’s mostly because of the fruit we bear (or DON’T bear).
