WShy do Protestants write so many books when the Bible is supposed to be "perspicuous?" Same reason Catholics do. Why do they preach on Sunday instead of just read the Bible aloud? I dunno. Why did Paul? Why did any of the Apostles? Why did Jesus open the scripture and explain how the whole thing pointed to him on the road to Emmaus? Whether it is verbal or written, we all do it.

Same reason Catholics do. Perhaps, but Catholics don't say the Bible is "perspicuous" and a 5-year-old can understand it as the Protestants do. Try again.
